Some of Our Filming Work in Lebanon

Filming in Lebanon

Getting permits to film is rarely an issue in Lebanon, and unless you want to shut down streets, then you’re very likely to be quickly approved for a permit. Work visas aren’t usually required either. If you contact NEEDaFIXER LEBANON, then we will be able to advise what kind of paperwork might need to be done.

Lebanon has lots of filming equipment, especially Technocrane, and NEEDaFIXER LEBANON will be able to ensure you have everything you need to keep your production on track. If you need crew, from directors to runners, or technical experts, then we can ensure they are at your filming location and ready to work when you need them. Because Lebanon isn’t a very diverse country, you may struggle to find non-Middle Eastern cast members, but we can help find local talent that meets your specific requirements and send over showreels for your consideration.

Filming in Lebanon means you may come across a language barrier, with most citizens speaking Arabic and French. That’s why it’s worth using our fixing services to sort out logistics such as transport and accommodation and to liaise with the local crew.

Lebanon offers a huge variety of filming locations. Whether you want snow-topped mountains, a modern high-rise city or a spectacular coastline as your backdrop. Some major productions in the country have included The Man with the Golden Gun, which has scenes in Beirut, and Ben-Hur, which used Tyre as a backdrop for the chariot race scene. More recently, parts of the thriller Syriana and the comedy movie Brüno were filmed in the country. Because Lebanon is potentially safer than some of its neighbours, it could be used as a stand-in for other Arabic countries.

Fixers in Lebanon

The team at NEEDaFIXER LEBANON can help with many aspects of pre-production and production in Lebanon. We can help find the perfect filming location, whether it’s in the more modern areas of Beirut or out in the mountains.

Lebanon’s second-largest city of Tripoli has lots of potential places to film, and it is a bustling city set on a steep slope towards the Mediterranean Sea. This city is also on the coast, and not far from the crowded areas you’ll find long, unspoilt stretches of beach that would be ideal for filming.

Lebanon has a growing domestic film industry and hosts events such as the Banff Mountain Film Festival Lebanon, which showcases local talent. With a handful of large film studios such as Studiovision in and around Beirut, the local industry looks set to grow.

What can our fixers in Lebanon do for you?

Popular Filming Locations

Beirut

A cosmopolitan city full of culture and sleek, contemporary buildings as well as beautifully preserved historic sites. Beirut has been used as the setting for many domestic films and TV shows as well as major international productions.

It’s also a city that has modern facilities such as banks, so shooting a contemporary film here will be a wonderful experience.

Tyre

Featuring colourful souks, ancient ruins and a pretty harbour, Tyre is a versatile filming location. The chariot race scene in Ben Hur was filmed at the ancient hippodrome.

Tyre is also one of the oldest cities in history, which means there’s plenty of history, which makes it the perfect backdrop for war films, documentaries and much more.
