Fixers in Israel

A biblical and breathtaking country, Israel is often considered as the ‘Holy Land’ thanks to its ancient cities including Jerusalem, Nazareth and Bethlehem. Surrounded by the Dead and Red Sea and boasting the Western-esque city of Tel Aviv, Israel has a real mixture of modern and cultural sights.

I want to shoot, but how easy is it to get permits for filming and fixers in Israel?
Pretty easy, but please bear in mind filming near military bases can be tricky, but can be done with enough notice. The average wait time of a visa can be two weeks.

Do I need a visa or work permit?
It’s completely dependent on your country of origin and it’s worth contacting your local embassy for more information. It’s also worth noting that if you’re travelling onto a Muslim country, you may wish to not have your passport stamped!

Can I hire equipment once there?

You can indeed, but Israel is purely Arri based, so any Panavision equipment must be brought in from surrounding European countries.

What is the climate like?

Enjoying a comfortable Mediterranean climate, Israel is particularly hot during the months of April through to September. It gets cooler though through the months of March – October.
