Whether or not you require a visa is dependent on your country of origin. Cyprus is part of the EU and an ATA Carnet country too.

Can I hire equipment once there?

In general, equipment is available, but for anything specialized you may find you need to have it sent from nearby Greece at competitive rates.

What is the climate like?

Cyprus is well known for its warm weather all year round, particularly in the summer when temperatures soar. Spring and autumn seasons are incredibly short and make way for long, mild winters and hot summers.
